Amy has come to Denver (along with 4 of her high schoool student council students) for the national Student Council conference. Nora and I have gotten to spend some time with her since she arrived last Wednesday. We went horseback riding with her and her group on Thursday. Nora had a great time riding tandem with me on my saddle, and fell asleep the last 20 minutes of the 2 hour ride! How funny is it that our horse was named "Belle"?!?!?! The scenery was some of the most beautiful I've seen since moving to Colorado. I think it has something to do with the daily rains we've had for the past 3+ weeks. The wildflowers and mountain views were stunning. Unfortunately it was nearly impossible to manage a horse, Nora and a camera, so I was lucky to get 3-4 pictures. I want to go back to the trail we rode and hike it so I can take my time and get all the pictures I want!

The recent rain has been accompanied by lots of thunder, lightning, a few tornado warnings and rainbows!
And here are some cute pictures from a recent hike with Sophia, Ann, Nathan (18 months) and Grandpapa.
There were a ton of mushrooms popping up everywhere. It was so cool! And so bizarre to see them next to a cactus.

The "dog rock." See it?

They all decided to hike with walking sticks. Even Nathan. He found his own stick.
