- While I was away for my nice long ski weekend, Charlotte and Murf helped Murphey out by watching Nora on the weekdays and doing fun stuff with them on the weekend. They gave me their camera so I could suck all the pictures and videos off the memory card and post them on the blog. They started out by celebrating Charlotte's birthday with a beautiful cake and candles. However, notice the candles on the plate and not on the cake. I hear Murf didn't want to mess up the beautiful cake, so he had Murphey melt the candles onto a plate. If Nora insists on having her birthday cake candles off the cake, I'll know who to come after, Grandpoppa! ;) Just kidding. It was a great idea, and seeing that Nora helped blow out the candles, everyone was guaranteed a spit-free cake.

On Saturday they took her to the fairgrounds to see Alpacas!

They also get big kudos for ensuring Nora got to see the garbage truck and taking her to her music class.

A few days after my return, we woke up to more snow. I'm so done with snow. However, this snow was a wet snow, so I thought I'd take Nora out and show her how to make a snowman. Murf came along to help and he took pictures.

And the pictures just don't do this justice... I really need to get video of Nora trying to make a snow angel. For my OT and PT friends out there, if I ever have the need to torture an OT student, I will have them task analyze making a snow angel. I never thought about how much coordination and motor planning it takes to make one, but watching Nora lie down and flail her arms about trying to copy what I was doing was just hilarious. If we get more snow (God forbid) I will try to get video of her doing this. (we won't tell Nora this, but the nice snow angel imprint was from me pushing her arms and legs through the snow)

- The other day I was driving home and less than a mile from our house are these horse ranches. Between two ranches is a strip of a few HUGE cottonwood trees. Well, on this day, 2 bald eagles had perched in one of the cottonwoods. I couldn't believe it. I did have a camera with me, but it wasn't my nice one, so the pictures aren't that great, but how exciting is this?

- This one goes out to my friend Martha... Thank you so much for introducing me to Boba tea. For those who have not heard of Boba tea, read about it here. I love Boba tea and am finding any excuse to go into Boulder these days so I can get one. Deee-lish. Can't wait to take my parents to get one.

- And as I've mentioned before on here, we have transformed the old 'office' into Nora's playroom. Thanks to Jack making quick work of the carpet in there, who knows, maybe he thought he was helping by watering the brown cut berber grass, we are installing hardwood floors this weekend, and hope to be done with her playroom by Sunday night. Yes, you heard me correctly. We, as in the residents of this house, and the one across the street, (actually, mainly just Murphey and Murf are doing it, I'm cheerleading and Charlotte's helping watch Nora) are the ones installing the hardwood floors. Keep us in your thoughts... Here's what the transformation is looking like so far... From this (scroll down to see pics of before and after from previous re-do of this room) to this:

To this:
carpet is gone, walls are painted, wood is acclimating

I hope I survive the weekend to put up pictures of it once it's complete! May take a boba or two, or ten...

Wow the room looks GREAT!!! I hope I can see it soon in person :)
Ray and his best friend put hardwood floors in Thorin's room, the living room and our bedroom. Our only problem was that Ray started on the wrong side of our bedroom. So when the living room walked by the bedroom, there's a tiny tiny little slit with a small itty bitty piece of filler wood in where they just had to flat cut. HA HA HA! One bedroom should go really smoothly! Advice: throw out the bowed pieces. If you have enough left over, try to return them.
Great photos! I have to admit I am partial to those snow shots. How cute the snowman and snow angel pics are!
The room is coming along great. I look forward to seeing the end result :0)
The circles look great! I hope everything went smoothly today.
Good luck on the floors.... When we needed hardwoods we enlisted the help of the Holtschneiders... and they came all the way down to Georgia to help:) The room looks really cute though.
