Oct 2009

I was trying to decide between continuing where the blog left off, last time I posted pictures of Nora, or just starting out new, by posting just the most recent pictures. Since I have used this as somewhat of a journal, I figured I could post a few pics from each month of the fall.

We did a lot of fun things in October. I was finally starting to feel better, thanks to zofran (anti-nausea medication). One of the first things we did upon my return from Aruba was meet our friends Julie and Anna at the Boulder Velodrome for some bike riding for the girls. It was great! They had so much fun and Nora was incredibly brave. At one point I was helping her on a path and I felt her little hands, her palms were SO sweaty!

This year we got our pumpkins for halloween for free! We refinanced our mortgage earlier this year and the company we went with invites all of their clients to a pumpkin patch for one day and they have all of the regular pumpkin patch festivities (haywagon ride, kettle corn, corn maze, donut holes (?!), etc.) We were able to take 2 pumpkins per person and all the gourds we could carry. It was a fun day, and FREE!

Hands off my pumpkin! ;-)

Here's a day Nora dressed herself. Not bad, right? You can't really tell, but thats's a pouffy skirt underneath a sweater dress. :)
We then got an early snowfall, so early the leaves hadn't even fallen off of the trees yet. It was very weird looking, because once it snowed and got cold, the leaves just jumped off the trees. Nora got some good early sledding in.

Then, four days later, no more snow, and temps warm enough to be outside without a coat.

Anna had her third birthday party at an indoor climbing gym. It was so cute!

Our city has a great Halloween Parade. Anyone who wants to walk in it, can. High school marching bands take up the front and the rear of the parade, with everyone walking in between. It's so much fun! We met up with a bunch of people from our neighborhood and Ginger and her little girl Parker. Nora was a butterfly (the only time she wore her butterfly costume I spent hours making, she decided to be a stick person, like all of the adults, for trick-or-treating that night.)

Finish off the parade with a donut from the donut shop!
And a snuggle with baby Parker

Carving one of our mammoth FREE pumpkins!!

Our skeleton Halloween decoration, that Nora named, on her own, "Annivar" (?!? no idea where she got that from). According to Nora, Annivar is a girl.

That concludes October. I need to get some pics from Claudia from Halloween night, so you can see our awesome stick person posse. Claudia and Robert and their friend Joanne were in town visiting from North Carolina, and they joined me, Murphey and Murf in dressing up as stick people halloween night. We ALL accompanied Nora out trick or treating and were quite a sight. It was really fun!
