I had 2 weeks at home, and then was off for another long weekend away, to Crested Butte, CO for our 3rd annual girl's ski weekend. It was just Miquette, Ginger and me this weekend, but we had lots of fun shopping and skiing. Well, Ginger didn't ski because she is pregnant!!! Miquette and I shredded the slopes though. Not really, but my confidence in skiing has greatly improved!! It was such a fun time. Not as much snow as last year, but great conditions, nontheless.

Meanwhile, Nora was giving everyone a run for their money back here at the ranch, and doing her best to make sure they think twice about letting me go away again any time soon. (Not that I'd want to leave my sweet family anytime soon, but you get the picture.) Murphey suspected she had a UTI, well honestly, he hoped she did, because that would be an easy explanation for her incredible, more-than-usual obstinate (and downright rude!) behavior. Yes, our sweet little angel would shriek at us "I will throw this at you and break it and hurt you!" along with slamming doors in our faces and screaming like a wild monkey if we tried to make her go to the bathroom. Oh, and she was wetting her pants 4-5 times a day. The nurse Murphey talked to on Saturday brushed him off and told him to call back if she developed a fever or anything. Monday was rough on Grandmama, so I called the doctor as I was pulling into town from Crested Butte. They made time for her right then, so I picked the G-units and Nora up and went straight in. I swear, she popped a fever of 101.5 right when we walked in the door of the clinic. The nurse ran a urinalysis which was negative. The doctor noted Nora had a red throat and did a throat culture, which came back positive. Go figure. So she's on Amoxicillin for ten days and after four, we seem to have our sweet little angel back. The doctor just called today to say that Nora's urine culture came back positive. Imagine that. No wonder she's been acting like a little devil. She's been sick as a dog. Well, not that sick. That's a whole 'nother story.
Here she is with the puppy that Aunt Helen sent her for her birthday. Nora named the puppy "Tasha" after one of the Backyardigans.I took her to get her hair cut on Wednesday. She didn't nap this day. 30 minutes before we were supposed to leave, I heard a loud thud in her room and went to check on her because she was supposed to be sleeping. I opened the door and a strong baby cosmetic smell hit me. I then noticed that there were about 6-7 open bottles and tubes, and baby lotion, diaper creme and toothpaste were smeared all over her and her room. That and she emptied a small bottle of baby oil all over her brand new bed quilt and sheets, which had only been on her bed 3-4 hours.
The $15.00 kids cut at the salon didn't include hairwashing, but my hairdresser kindly threw it in at my request. My child was a yucky combo of crusty and greasy at that point. She cleaned up nicely though.

Sucking her thumb, a sure sign of sleepiness.

Here are some sweet pictures of Nora and Phoebe, our almost 18 year old cat. Phoebe is so good with Nora. She will curl up next to her and let Nora pet her.

Notice the nice new big girl bed? I scored an adorable bedroom set on Craig's List for $250.00!! Included twin headboard/footboard, dresser, nightstand, desk with hutch and chair. I am so proud of this purchase! It looks great in her room. I will take some pictures this weekend and post them. Here are some fun shots of her playing this week. She still loves dressing up and dancing.

All the pictures are great! I can't believe how long her hair has gotten. Can you believe how fast they grow up?
From Fairy Princess to Biker Babe! This girl has such a great range :)
Her hair is crazy long! How did that happen so fast? I love it, so pretty. Oh, these girls would just have too much fun together dressing up like butterfly fairies and dancing together. It is Maddie's favorite thing to do. The bedroom set looks so cute!
