Fall Fun

Fall is one of my favorite times of year. I love all of the colors and the crisp air. Last year I wasn't able to get any good pictures of Nora with the fall leaves. This year our trip to Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park was too premature (and the weather didn't cooperate) to caputure some good pictures of her with the fall colors. So during this past week I decided to take her out to a trail I had run on with some friends. There was a lot of great scenery, so I figured a good shot would be easy. She was great, typical 2 year old, but great. I learned that I need to stop saying "Nora, SMILE!" "Nora, look at the camera" because that just doesn't work. And she just gets annoyed at me and runs away! If only she could run and position herself in a perfect spot for lighting and scenery.

I think she had the most fun at one point running through a little weed filled field. I was fine with her doing that, I didn't foresee any great danger. She'd run, trip, fall, hop back up, spin around, fall, all through the grass and weeds. I just snapped away. Then she started to get a little far from me, so I went after her, and several feet in I discovered she was running and playing in a field full of tiny cacti (with very long needles). When I got to her, the bottom of her crocs were covered in finger sized prickly pear type cactus. COVERED. I carried her back to the sidewalk and checked the rest of her, and was absolutely amazed that she didn't have them anywhere else on her body. Phew! Talk about guardian angels!

Beautiful photos of the Divine Miss N...but where has your baby gone?

Every time I see a new photo the changes are amazing.

You take such amazing photos, Mia!! Nora is so grown up looking...what a beautiful little girl! And despite what you said, the pictures make it look like she was very cooperative posing for the camera. Colorado is so pretty! Fall is definitely my favorite time of year as well.

are you sure you have never taken a photography class? Your pictures are beautiful. I'm sure it helps that your subject is beautiful as well.

LOVE the one of her on the fence. She may have a modeling career ahead of her! Great shots. She seemed very cooperative! No more expensive professional photographer!

I agree with every one that you take beautiful professional looking photos! Both Ray and I think that in the second one of Nora (the close up), she looks so much like you!!!
