Murphey has promised me a super speedy computer by the end of the weekend... well, he sort of has... He says he's going to fix our desktop, aka my blogging computer this weekend, so keep your fingers crossed. Yes I've been in a bit of a blogging slump lately, and I think I'm starting to emerge from it. A speedy computer will definitely help. :)
While looking back through my previous posts earlier today, I noticed that it seems like I only wear one shirt. My Bolder Boulder 10K shirt. Really, I have other shirts, I guess that it's just coincidence that when the camera comes out, I'm wearing it. Now I'm going to make a conscious effort not to wear it anymore.
Nora is doing great. Can we say "Little pitchers have big ears?" Murphey's parents have been shopping at a large mall in the area that has a great popcorn stand. I asked them to bring us some popcorn, and both times they went recently, they brought us some. Yummy! Yesterday I was joking around with Murphey about how now I need to train his dad to bring me Boba tea. (You know we love you Murph!) Nora was in the other room playing contently by herself. Several minutes later, she comes into the kitchen, takes a seat at her table and looks at me and says, "Watcha talkin' about Mama?" Murphey and I had moved on in the conversation and were talking about something else, so I wasn't sure what she meant. She repeated herself a few times, "Watcha talkin' about Mama?" and then said, "Are we going to get Boba? I want a Boba!" It was so funny. That girl's as addicted to those things as I am. Her other thing is, when she wants something, she'll 'suggest' it to you by saying something like "How about we go get in the car and get a Boba!" "How about we watch Max and Ruby (cartoon) and then change my diaper."
My 'nice' blue living room sofa has seen better days. Nora does not seem to agree that the pillows, or plastic spiky cover I use to keep the animals off are necessary. Every day I pick the pillows up off the floor, and every day she throws them off the sofa. Then Jack thinks they are for him, so he curls up on them when I'm home. When I'm gone, he just uses the whole sofa. I give up.

Partners in Crime

My friend Darcie was out visiting from VA for 10 days this month. It was awesome having her here. We used her visit as an excuse to do one fun thing after another, minus the emergency vet visit for dear old Phoebe. (BTW, she's fully recovered now.)
She wasn't the only thing to arrive that day! I ordered Nora her very own sleeping bag for our upcoming camping trip. Looks like Darcie could save herself some money in the sleeping bag department, because she perfectly fits in this "child sized" sleeping bag I bought Nora!

Darcie brought along an awesome new friend for Nora. Tully the Turtle. It's a turtle air cushion. Nora loves Tully!!! We decided though, as she started launching herself off of Tully's back, that she needed to be wearing her bike helmet. The wings were her own addition.

That Sunday we went trekked the 'treacherous' hike at Chautauqua. When we were looking at the pictures on the computer later, Darcie was frustrated because the trail looks like a nice easy path, when in fact it is a lung buster when you are 1) toting 30 lbs of toddler, or 2) have sea level lungs. So, the pics don't quite do it justice. Come for a visit and I'll take you there so you can admire the beauty of the Flatirons and give your lungs and legs a workout, for yourself.

Stopping to pick some apples

The next day, since our plans for Moab got shifted to later in the week, we went to the Boulder Creek Festival. They had lots of vendors, and small rides/activities for the kids, including a giant zucchini race. People decorate these huge zucchinis and then plop these wheels in 'em. We missed the races this year, so we'll have to make it a point to see them next year.
Our daughter is a true Boulderite. There was a live band and it didn't take her long to start dancing like all the crazy hippies. Her dancing got a little close to the people sitting 'next' to us. You can't tell in the video, but it's a couple who plopped down with their two dogs and sat there eating these Ginormous turkey legs. The poor dogs just sat there salivating the whole time! Nora was getting close to them, and I could just imagine her falling in between the pit bull and it's owner's turkey leg!
Eating on the go, or shall I say, on the dance.
They had a bungee jumping thing that she had a blast on, as well as a little train ride.

As we were leaving, she got her first bee sting. I feel so bad, I just brushed it off and told her, "No, the bee didn't bite you," and then soon realized that yes, it actually had stung her. She was a trooper and held ice on her arm the whole way home. Didn't cry once!!

GREAT pictures!! So glad you're emerging from your slump! I think my favorite in this batch is Nora with her bike helmet, her wings and Tully!
That girl certainly has the rhythm in her--loved the dancing!
Welcome back to blogland!! I missed you. I love the wings and helmet too. She looks like a fairy in training. I like "how about we watch Max and Ruby" it's much better than Elijah's "I NEED Max and Ruby" (BTW, it's his absolute favorite show!)
The wings and helmet are too funny. I love that she has no shirt on either! That is such a classic 2 year-old moment. Welcome back to the land of blog, I missed your posts lately!
LOVE the new background!! Hmmmm... does this mean the computer is fixed and is now superfast and we can expect new posts soon?? (Or to paraphrase the Divine Miss N, how about we post today?)
