North Carolina

Ok, on to more pics from our vacation! I left off right before we headed down to Carthage, NC to visit Aunt Claudia and Uncle Robert. They have a beautiful house just outside of town. Lots of space for Nora to roam. Neighbors with horses and ducks to feed and bountiful gardens. We ate like royalty while we were there, between the NC BBQ from the "Pick N Pig" and the fresh veggies and blueberries from her neighbor's gardens. My mouth is watering just looking at the pictures!

One day they took us to an Alpaca farm. They farm owners have somewhat of an "Agri-tainment" business going on, so we also got a hay-ride tour of their property and all of the exotic farm animals they had. Lots of unique species of "ordinary" farm animals such as cows, donkeys, chickens, etc. At the end, Robert and Murphey bought Nora the softest stuffed animal I've ever felt, an Alpaca made with real Alpaca fleece. Nora loved it all, but she really liked their small veggie garden. She picked several cherry tomatoes off the plant and popped them in her mouth, and then later on, during the hay ride, she began devouring a cucumber Claudia had picked. Needless to say, after the Alpaca farm, we headed to the Pick N Pig.

She was also very into climbing that day

In front of the Pick N Pig, which by the way, is set right on an active runway. You can literally fly in, eat lunch, and fly out. First time I've ever had to say to Nora, "Stay over here, you don't want to get hit by an airplane!" Actually, there were no planes flying in/out when we were there, but you never know!

On a walk near Robert and Claudia's house

We got to visit the lovely town of Pinehurst and meet Claudia's friend Kristin (we're still really sorry about the nasty diaper we changed in your office, Kristin!). There were several dog statues through town, and Nora loved each one she saw. Unfortunately, she was in a phase where anytime I pointed a camera at her (and she was aware of it) I got these looks: (hence all the pictures of the back of her head!)
We had a treat from Cold Stone Creamery, where I ate my new favorite ice cream flavor... Blueberry Muffin Batter. De-freakin-lish...

We sat out one evening snapping our freshly picked (by us!) green beans. Of course, Nora ate the ones we gave her to snap.
Up next... Myrtle Beach!

Me too, the curls are so precious! If only it were PC to put hair clips on boys!

Me three....I LOVE her hair. That's the first time I've seen it so curly/wavy. It looks like you put it in curlers! What a fun visit you had.

She's almost a Scheffler with those curls! Maybe when I come out and visit you my hair will go straight:)

Love all the pictures. It really looks beautiful around there. Looks like you had a really good time at Murphy's aunt and uncle's place. The dog statues remind me of the mermaid statues in Virginia Beach. I sure do miss you guys.
