On the mend

Just a quick note to let everyone know that Murphey's surgery went very well. Today he is already feeling better. The nerve pain in his left shoulder is subsiding (woohoo!) and he is doing well. Here's the lovely picture the doctor took of him after surgery. The very dark sideways U shaped part in his neck is the plate and screws. The shaded square inside the sideways U is the bone graft. Pretty cool, huh? It is still really hurting him to swallow (from them pushing everything out of the way to get to his spine), and it's not the kind of pain that popsicles and lozenges will help. Hopefully that will be gone in a few days.

So glad to hear all is healing well. Too bad that the ice cream/popsicles aren't working, figured that it would be a good excuse to indulge... rest up.

I'm so glad everything went well with surgery. I know how scary that must have been! He's lucky he's got a great wife to help him recover :)
