Wanna take a picture of that?

We're back from Tucson. We had a wonderful time seeing all of the family that was able to make it (quite a few!). We also said our final goodbye's to my Grandma and Grandpa. I will post more later, with more pics from our time there. Here's one of my favorites. It's a picture of my Grandfather's Night Blooming Cereus. There is a very touching story behind this, that I want to make sure I get all the details correct on before I share it, but here are two of my favorite pics of it. It was really hard getting a good picture of it, seeing as I know very little about the mechanics of a camera.

Now for another Nora story. We're sitting in the Tucson airport, at our gate, waiting for the plane. Every time a plane went by she'd get really excited and yell "There's a plane!!!" Then we started seeing fighter jets from the base flying by. I told her that they were jets and she looked at me and (with the attitude of a 14 year old) said "No, Momma, those aren't jets, they're planes" This phrase was accompanied by her slowly shaking her head back and forth and looking at me through a slightly furrowed brow, as if she were saying, "Silly you, you're so wrong and I will enlighten you" (Another one of her Jedi mind tricks) The expression and her tone of voice made me laugh out loud. Literally, each and every time she'd tell me (about 3 times). Well, she realized I was laughing at her expression and the last time she said, "No, Momma, those aren't jets, they're planes" she maintained the expression on her face and and said to me "Wanna take a picture of that?" I died laughing right there. So, of course, I got out my camera and took a picture, and this is what I got...

you say you don't know the mechanics of a camera, but your pictures are fabulous.

Love the flower pics. They are really beautiful. Love the picture of Nora and the story, it is priceless. You are in for trouble in about eight years. Good luck.

Eight years? Try about 18!! I agree, it is pretty funny to ready that you don't know the mechanics of the camera when you post such an awesome picture! That black and white one is so cool. You should frame it. And the story about Nora is sooooo darn funny, I am cracking up right now!!! It's crazy how bright and verbal she is. My patient was born the same day as Nora and her Mom was boasting the other day that she's counting to 5! Wow.
