Our New Pet

This video was taken before Labor Day. The bathroom on our main level has a shower stall which we never use. I got Nora a potty chair since she has expressed interest in sitting on the toilet. She loves to sit on it, briefly, but does nothing more with it. I have been storing this potty chair in the shower stall, and the other day when I went to get it out of the shower, Nora noticed a large spider in there and has been fascinated with it ever since. I don't know how the poor thing is staying alive, but ever day we go to see it and it's still there (and moving.)

You'll notice in the video that she makes the snoring/sleeping sound (I think Murphey's family refers to it as "honk-chewing") when I ask her if she thinks the spider is sleeping.

Nora = adorable. Spider = not so much. I would have to send my cat in for attack on that one. But, the cat no longer trusts me enough to go in the shower stall ;0) (Smart kitty!)

I can't get over her speech/language. She is so bright :) "Close door" cracked me up. That girl better put some meat on her bones because if her brain gets any bigger, she might fall over from the weight of her head! Ha ha. She is so cute and oh so smart!

Honk-chewing.....I like that. From now on when SOMEONE tells me I snore (ahem, a likely snory--I mean STORY), I'll just tell them, "No, I'm not snoring. I'm honk-chewing." 8-) Please give our beautiful granddaughter a hug and kiss (or a thousand)from us. She's growing up way too fast. Can't wait to see her again!

"Honk-Chewing" (or "Honk-Chooing", a spelling alternate not yet approved by Webster's Collegiate Dictionary but also widely accepted in the immediate family)is a time-honored activity started by Nora's father when he was little and made such loud breathing noises as he slept. He could be napping in his bedroom upstairs and everyone could hear him breathing in the basement. It wasn't scary like the thought of big, hairy spiders on your blanket slowly crawling up towards your head in the dark, but it kept you wide awake just the same.
Heh! Heh! Heh! Honk-Chew/Hokn-Choo on that for awhile!
