After...

Murphey's surgery went really well yesterday. Last August he broke his ankle and they fixed it with a plate and some screws. It meant for a quicker, easier recovery in the beginning, but some people don't tolerate the hardware well, and Murphey was one of them. His ankle remained very sensitive where the plate was, so the doctor recommended removing it. It's about a 6 week recovery time now to give the bone time to heal from where the 8 screws were. He has already started weight baring on his foot, but he's still going to take it easy all weekend. He asked the doctor if he could have the hardware, and sure enough, they took it out, cleaned it up, sterilized it, and gave it to him in a neat little envelope.
As a special treat, I made chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast this morning (they were healthy chocolate chip pancakes , well about as healthy as they can be, made with organic whole wheat mix and coated with flaxseed meal. :) Nora had a few bites and, of course, loved them. Loved them so much she covered her face with them and then decided to play peek-a-boo.

Playing with the salad bowls she pulled out from a cupboard.
