Meet Phoebe, my sweet kitty.
She's 16 years old and the best cat ever. She was originally my mom's, but I stole her (because I'm her favorite human.) Actually, she
chose me (sorry, Mom, it's true!!!) :) You can't tell in these pictures, but she has the deepest indigo colored eyes. They're beautiful!
Out of all our pets, she is, by far, the best with Nora. When we bring Nora into our bed to snuggle, Phoebe climbs up her special stairs, purrs her way towards us and plops down right next to Nora. I was able to capture some sweet moments with the two of them the other day. This was after Nora sat there gently poking the tips of Phoebe's ears, just enough to make them twitch. She'd giggle like crazy each time, and then touch them again. Phoebe sat there and let her do it for a couple of minutes!

Ahem.... I'd like to go on the record here... You did, indeed, steal Phoebe. Phoebe did NOT choose you. Phoebe suffered from the feline version of Stockholm Syndrome. You kept her TRAPPED in your room. And just as those hostages in Sweden many years ago bonded with their captors and eventually identified with them, Phoebe was tricked into believing you were her favorite human. Then there was the connection I have with your father.... Just as she has always adored your favorite male companion of the moment when we lived in England, Florida and finally Wisconsin (culminating, of course, in the adoration she has for your ultimate outstanding male companion of all!), she has associated me with your father....and we all know what that has meant over the years. I was Phoebe's favorite human until you insidiously tricked her and your father shoved medications down her throat (earning her undying mistrust). Just wanted to set the record straight. :-)

Actually, in the third picture, Nora is not petting Phoebe, she is really giving her cat CPR.
