Here's a picture of Nora modeling her TPIR onesie. Our plan was to put a picture of her wearing her onesie on buttons and wear them at the show, but we ran out of time to do that.

Our day began bright and early. The gates to the studio lot opens at 7:00 a.m. We got in line at around 5:30 a.m. (The taping was at 1:15 p.m.) We were 118th and 119th in line. There were people there who had spent the night in line! Die hards! At this point we were waiting for the gates to open to get our "order of arrival" pass. His shirt says: front "I waited 30 years to say my BID" back "Bob Is the Dog"

This is just a picture of the line. The guy in the neon yellow shirt is a firefighter from Ohio. He made it as a contestant that day!

I don't have any more pictures from this point on because we were not allowed to take pictures once inside the lot. After getting our order of arrival pass we were issued ticket numbers. Then we waited for a couple of hours. They then lined us up according to ticket numbers and had us fill out cards with our name and social security number. We also got our nametags at this point, but they would still not guarantee if we were going to be audience members. And we waited a couple of more hours. Then they let 12 people go at a time to talk with 2 producers before getting in line for security. I tried to talk us up to the producers, because it is at this point when they are picking the people who they are going to have as contestants. On t.v. it looks like they randomly pick the contestants, but there's nothing random about it. At this point we had a pretty good idea that we were going to make it into the audience, but we still weren't 100% sure. We went through security and then waited around another hour or so. The line eventually started to move and we walked up some stairs and down a hallway and into the studio. It was very surreal to be there, it looks so much smaller than on t.v. and the set is very chintzy.
We didn't make it as contestants, but it was so much fun. I have a new appreciation for contestants on the show because everything moves so fast and is so loud, it is all very overwhelming, even as an audience member. The taping we attended is supposed to air Jan 2, 2007, it's the first show of the new year!
FYI, Bob Barker announced he's retiring the day after we attended the taping. Talk about good timing!!!
Murphey at Johnny Rocket's (great burgers!) after the taping. We were starving!!!

"One Dollar Bob!"

Harry and Maria, TPIR contestants. We had to use our real names, for tax reasons I guess.

Murphey on the balcony of our hotel in West Hollywood.

Pictures of us in Santa Monica.

Mia, too bad you all didn't come earlier you could have stayed with me and my parents at their house in Glendale. It is not too far from where you all were. I love the story and the pictures. Sounds like you guys had alot of fun even if it was a very long day.
I love the shirts and Nora's onesie! You guys are too cute!
