Nora had a great 1st Thanksgiving. Murphey cooked up an excellent turkey and his mom came over for the festivities. Nora got to try a bite or two of turkey, but she was not crazy about it.

Now that she's more mobile, it's taking her longer to settle down and fall asleep when I put her down in her crib. Now she's all over her crib, standing at the rails, crying and crying. It's heartbreaking! I have to go in several times and put her back down, otherwise she just falls down and inevitably bumps her head! On this day, after standing for probably 5 minutes or so, she wound up sitting in the corner. She was soooo tired but she would NOT lie down! Finally she dozed off with her head resting in the corner, sucking her thumb, of COURSE! It was so sweet, I took a picture of her on the baby monitor before I went in and laid her down.

She also started clapping this week! Here's some video of her first claps! She was so funny. She would creep forward a few steps, then sit up tall and clap. Then creep forward a few more steps only to stop, sit up and clap.

I love the Turkey picture, it's great! I love that you can look at here while napping, I definately need to get one of those. I remember when Daniel first learned to stand he would stand up in his crib and then get "stuck". He would do this in the middle of the night, fortunately it didn't last long.
I also love all the pictures. I especially love the one of Nora in the corner of her bed. It really tugs at the heart strings. You are so lucky to have access to the technology you have today. I wish I had had the stuff you all have now. I also like the turkey pictures. James cooked our Thanksgiving dinner this year. He did a very good job and everything was very good and it was so nice not to have to cook and be in the kitchen all day.
Wow, that's great that James cooked! What a nice treat for you Cathy!
Love the corner sleeping pic!
I have a friend who would leave a plate of scrambled eggs and a bottle of juice in the crib every morning for her sleeping baby. When she awoke, her daughter would neatly eat her morning meal, stack her dishes in the corner of the crib, and return to sleep for a bit more!!! That baby girl years later was Liz's Gifted and Talented teacher in elementary school!! Love the blog. Am most envious of the seamless story of Nora's life that you are creating. I would love to have that for my kiddos.
