Invited Readers Only?!?!

We've decided to make the new blog open to "invited" readers only.  I have avoided this because I thought our blog was open to only friends and family (and friends of family, friends, etc.) because we consciously don't publicly list our blog anywhere.  After playing around all day with a bunch of cool, new options blogger now has, I have realized that our blog is not as 'private' as I thought.  Today I realized that there are a few ways that perfect strangers can stumble upon our blog, and since I don't usually censor what I post on it, I'm just not comfortable with it.

This doesn't mean that I don't want our friends reading the blog.  I welcome all of those readers and don't want people to be discouraged by the "invited readers only" post they will get the first time they visit the new blog.  So please send me an email and I'll add you to the list of accepted readers.

We're moving!

Not physically, just in cyberspace. With our expanding family, we will now have two precious little ones to share news and pictures about, so it's only fair that the blog title reflect that. That, and we're bound to run out of space on this blog sooner or later. The new blog title came to me early one morning when I wished I could have been sleeping but my big belly was making it difficult to do so. So please update your bookmarks and join the whole family over at www.TheRealMcCloys.blogspot.com. See you there!!

April

We had so much fun dyeing Easter eggs this year. Nora got to help Grandmama decorate her house and dye eggs there on Friday and then on Saturday we did some here at home.

Here's her excited face
She doesn't heed any warnings coming from us lately (most annoying 4 year old trait). I don't remember why she was stacking the eggs, but of course she had to find out for herself why it wasn't a good idea. Thankfully the eggs made it.

Beautiful eggs at Grandmama's

Playing with cousin Will
Her "Score!" face. She was loving the chocolate loot.
Gifts from Aunt Helen in Kentucky. The fleecy puppy is for her baby brother.

Tried to take advantage of her looking cute in her Easter clothes and the nice weather and get some pictures. She kept posing with her hands up near her head and I couldn't figure out what she was doing, especially because the last thing this child does is pose for me/the camera (Remember the "Daughters of Photographers" series?) Then she said she was doing it like Alice from Alice in Wonderland, where she is lying in the grass.

Here's Nora and her friend Sophia. I love how much fun kids have with big cardboard boxes. They should sell big cardboard boxes at toy stores. The kids had such a fun time pretending they were in a boat, etc.

I continued to work until April 6. Since I work in early intervention, I see most of the children on my caseload until they turn 3 years old. This is a little girl who is one of my favorites, and I began treating her when she was 11 months old. She turned 3 on April 5, so Jessica (the PT in the picture) brought cupcakes and we co-treated our last session with her and made it a fun birthday celebration. The big box of cupcakes are hiding my huge belly.

March

Nora's interest in playdoh has continued and her creations have become more elaborate. This is "coral".

Birthday celebrations!! Her birthday was on a Tuesday, a day she goes to preschool. Grandma was also in town to celebrate, so Nora opened presents from us before school, from Grandma after school and from Grandmama and Grandpapa after dinner. She had a great day at preschool, her teachers are the BEST! They put together a little book for each child for their birthday and have all of the other kids in the class draw a picture and say what is special about the birthday person. Nora's book is full of great pictures and sweet comments.

After preschool Grandma and I took her to the park for a picnic birthday lunch.
Birthday cake!
The infamous bugle. Nora is a champ at playing it (better than I am!) Murphey has actually leaned out the back door and blown the bugle (sometimes playing a few bars of "Taps") to let Nora and Grandpapa know it's time for dinner! Our neighbors probably think we're nuts.
Lunch the day after her birthday. Cold pizza and frozen green beans, per her request. And yes, she did eat it.

On March 18 we took her to Disney on Ice. We paid a little extra and got front row tickets, we were so close we were practically sitting on the ice! It was spectacular. Combined two of her greatest interests, Disney and ice-skating.

On Saturday the 2oth, my friends Jessica, Stephanie, Ginger and Martha threw me a baby shower. They were so sweet, no detail was left out. We started with brunch at one of my favorite restaurants in Boulder and then moved to a great nail salon (all-you-can-eat m&m's and diet cokes, big screen tv playing non-stop chic-flicks/tv). As if that wasn't enough, they brought cupcakes from a bakery in Boulder and personalized m&m's.

Murphey and I decided to give cloth diapering a try. This is a cloth diaper cake made by Martha for me. It was so pretty I didn't want to take it apart!

It was such a fun day!!! I am so thankful for my great friends!

Nora REALLY wanted to fly her kite one day, but there wasn't quite enough wind, so she ran and ran so the kite would stay up in the air.
So, of course, she ordered Grandma to do the same.

My brother gave us Pictionary Man for Christmas. We have yet to play it because Nora has usurped it and loves drawing faces on it and dressing it up in her doll clothes.
We got Nora a pogo stick because she was insistent that she "just knew how to do it". She would not stop talking about it!! She spent the whole afternoon practicing and was able to get up to 5 consecutive bounces!! She now will admit that it is hard and that she is not an expert at it, so I think the experience was at least somewhat humbling!!
Playing dress-up with her friend Anna who came over for a playdate.
